Awesome compilation of Nancy Cabot Quilt Blocks
This lady - Candace Moore - has compiled and shared an awesome collection of Nancy Cabot quilt blocks on her blog - Moore About Nancy. She started the series in January 2013 with the intention of posting the blocks on the same day that they were published in the Chicage Tribune newspaper where Nancy Cabot worked for 32 years. The original publish date and Nancy's write-up for the block are included with a photo or a sketch of each block. The daily postings of most of the blocks include step by step instructions on how to make the blocks with beautiful photographs and templates which can be downloaded and quilt layout examples. She also includes links to other web sites that have an example or tutorial of that block. The blocks are scaled to 6 inches for making a sampler quilt. Because this is a sampler sew along, she has chosen to not draft the patterns that are applique or that are designed for using in a quilt top that uses one block design to form an overall design - an example would be the Irish Chain.
Simply an incredible gift to the quilting world!!

Be sure to read the posts "Making A Sampler Quilt Parts 1, 2 & 3" which were posted on March 4th, 6th & 8th
Moore About Nancy: Who is Nancy Cabot?: Nancy Cabot wrote a daily newspaper column for the Chicago Tribune in the 1930's.

Moore About Nancy: Making a Sampler Quilt-Part 1
Here's a link to Part 1 of Making a Sampler Quilt (patterns are by Nancy Cabot) on Candace Moore's blog - Moore About Nancy. Ms. Moore has drafted the patterns to be 6 inches in size and provides construction info and photos, downloadable templates and layout suggestions. This is a wonderful generous contribution to quilters! Thank you Ms. Moore!

Dolls that may be archived
Personally, I hope they're not correct because I had hoped to get these dolls someday since they are from my home state - Louisiana. (Marie Grace & Cecile live in New Orleans during the yellow fever epidemic of 1853.) Click on the link below to read what some are saying about the possibility of some AG dolls being retired in the near future.
Living A Doll's Life : Who Will Archive 2014?: This is purely speculation as my AG friends continue to discuss this subject. In a previous post , I mentioned that a PS said in April,...
